iPhone 4 is Sold Out

Today was the official pre-order day for Apple’s latest and greatest smartphone: iPhone 4. If you want to know what makes this latest must-have gadget the latest must-have gadget, take a look at the infographic below for a very brief rundown of the key differences between this phone and its predecessor:

I just tried to order my iPhone 4 online to collect at the Apple store on Regents Street, London. Unfortunately…well…they’ve sold out:

Apparently, customers are having trouble with this all over the world [1]. AT&T who had their biggest online sales day in the history of the company. This remarkable day of iPhone pre-orders has proved many analysts wrong who commented that the Gizmodo leak [2] would have put a big dent in anticipation for the iPhone 4 and may even harm sales. Some may argue that, if anything, the leak has caused more anticipation with Apple fan-boys (including yours truly) getting thrown a bone and then having to wait until the official launch.

Perhaps, taking a cynical view, Apple deliberately lowered the limit of iPhones available for pre-order or that will be produced in time for release in order to fuel more interest through word of mouth, news stories and…blog articles…

  1. Hi there, i have put a link in the url box thingy (hope you can see it)www.invisi-shield.com. Just wondering if anyone has used this product b4 or knows someone that has as ive been savin for quite some time now and am about to invest in the new iphone 4. The problem i have is the last phone i had the screen ended up trashed because i can not seem to break the habit of sticking in my pocket with my keys or coins etc. If im going to spend a thousand dollars on the the coolest thing under the sun then i dont want this happening again. Ive researched this a bit and the invisibleSHIELD “sounds” like the best option but as you know its a bit hard to tell from little internet pictures so if anyone could please give me some advice on this it would be muchly appreciated. Great site by the way.

    • Hi Sarah, Thanks for the comment and for visiting the blog 🙂 Apologies for the late reply!
I really good cover to look at is this one: http://store.apple.com/uk/product/H2330LL/A?mco=MTY3ODQ5OTY which keeps the iPhone 4 looking great. I just bought a bumper for mine and it’s fine. The reinforced glass doesn’t scratch that much and I personally think it looks better without a cover and it isn’t that likely to be scratched when placing it in your pocket. Still, I think the link above might be of some help. Many thanks again.
