The ‘Golden Ratio‘ is an inherent design aspect of the universe found in nature, the clock cycle of brainwaves and eve the human genome DNA. It is described in the following manner:
“Two quantities are in the golden ratio if the ratio of the sum of the quantities to the larger quantity is equal to the ratio of the larger quantity to the smaller one. The golden ratio is an irrational mathematical constant, approximately 1.6180339887.“
The Golden Ratio is also commonly used in designs and logos. It is said to make some more attractive to the human eye and this may be way the genius designers at Apple have used it extensively when constructing both their products and their logos. There’s a very good reason the golden ratio is found in static forms, animate and inanimate.
It’s because it’s a signature of nature self-designing itself as dynamical (time based), evolutionary, optimising, analogical flows of energy, matter and information.
We as the co-discoverers of this new sustainable design law of nature, call the behaviours Constructal law, and the geometric signatures the Asynsis principle.
The dynamic evolution of the golden ratio links the two.
